Newborn Home Visiting

In-Home Mom and Baby Care and Education

The ideal timing for a postpartum visit is within 48 hours after being discharged from the hospital. Most moms will schedule a visit between 3-7 days after discharge. The sooner you schedule, the sooner we can address any areas of concern in order to assure a safe and health recovery. On average, the postpartum period will last anywhere from 4-8 weeks. Some mothers may need more time. During this period,  a new set of complex physiological and psychological changes take place. Your recovery time is also affected by the type of delivery. You may have been anticipating a vaginal delivery but at the last minute your doctor had to perform a C-section. All of a sudden you are now trying to adhere to movement and lifting restrictions, managing pain and incision care, trying to sleep and rest while baby is sleeping, finding a comfortable position to breastfeed, managing breastfeeding issues, keeping up with small frequent meals and staying hydrated, adapting to the fluctuation of hormones all while at the same time attending to your babies needs. To say that it could all be a bit overwhelming is an understatement! Know that you and your baby are never alone. Beyond 9 is here for you! Our role is to facilitate your transition to motherhood by promoting mother & baby physical and mental well-being.

Here is what a Newborn Home Visit includes:
